The Latch

Kitsap Tours
I recently used a Groupon I had purchased for an all-day photo tour with Kitsap Tours based out of Bainbridge Island, WA. The tours are run by owners Jean and Jim Boyle who meet you at the Bainbridge Island ferry terminal, and spend the day whisking you around between fabulous photo op locations. Each tour is a little different based on weather, time of year, etc. The day I joined, we drove around Point No Point lighthouse and beach in Hansville, over through Port Gamble, down to Poulsbo, and even took a private boat tour around the Liberty Bay marina taking shots of boats, scenery, and a whole crew of harbor seals.

It was a superb day and I greatly enjoyed myself. Jean and Jim are great tour guides, they make the trip fun and they have lots of insider information on the locations you visit. In addition to photo tours, they offer a number of other excursions, such as trips through Bainbridge Island, the Kitsap peninsula, the Bloedel Reserve, and custom tours. I would recommend them to anyone for an enjoyable day of sightseeing and learning about the area.

The Latch
One of the coolest benefits of sightseeing with Kitsap Tours is that Jean and Jim have access to private locations that the average person on the street couldn't visit. In my case, we took a tour of a deserted house in Port Gamble that is said to be haunted. The house had some really interesting fixtures such as colorful, abstract stained glass, antique door handles, and window latches such as the one below.

I'm a sucker for details.
