Kingdom of the Sheep

Merry Christmas to everyone out there!

Kingdom of the Sheep
There are sheep eeeeeeeeverywhere in Iceland. For the most part, they just run free until the yearly 'roundup', so there are sheep in the farmlands, sheep on the mountainsides, sheep on the rocks, sheep on the beach, sheep in the road in front of my car... again. Sheep everywhere.

There are also a bunch of hundreds-of-years-old large random rock formations and disintegrating houses and barns all over the south part of the country that have been left to become part of the permanent landscape, and so far as I can tell, the sheep have been perfectly happy to claim these spots as their own. It was highly amusing to be driving through a relatively empty piece of land and arrive at one of these formations to see a little commune of sheep sprouting up around it out of nowhere. And there always seemed to be one who found his way to the top and seemed to enjoy just relaxing and surveying his little kingdom.
