French Quarter Corner
On my last morning in New Orleans this past November I was walking through the French Quarter rather early - folks were just barely starting to trickle out of their fabulous French apartments and off to work. I came around a corner and, from a block away, saw the autumn-leafed plants on this balcony against the last bits of fading color from the sunrise. I rushed over to get a shot before everything turned blue and flat and the harsh daylight sun started to set in, and about 30 seconds after I took this shot, the sky turned cold blue and the leaves on the plants lost a bit of their glow. I love capturing fleeting little moments of beauty like that.
